I guess you can never be sure. Unless you can convince BP to fly over there and confirm its authenticity himself.

And considering that some guitar fakers are master builders/copiers, and considering that BP is human and therefore fallible (I assume) ;), and considering that there's a non-zero chance that the world is controlled by Illuminati space lizards who live under Denver International Airport, no wait, strike that last one ... where was I ... yeah, considering all that, can you really really be 100.00% sure, even then?

I guess what I really wanna ask is, how sure is sure enough?

Would BP have grabbed this for the EB museum before the lizards under Denver Intl get hold of it ? even if it predated Ernie Balls buyout of Music Man !...Its historical importance cannot be overstated... If it is genuine.. which coming from Andy´s Emporium it most probably is..... So come on BP get that private jet out of the hanger and take a look at it !!....

Bear in mind he's got #28 (ten pole pieces special) already from early production. But I also think EBMM should have #1 also. Was this the one presented to Forrest White along with the first Stingray guitar by Leo?

Wow! Definitely wouldn't be one to take out for gigs, that's for sure.
When I hit Powerball and open my Bass Museum, maybe I'll buy it.
For now, I'll have to stick with my Classic.

If I had over $20,000 to throw away [I subtracted the price of a
perfickly good current issue SR4 from Andy's asking price], then
I would absolutely buy AND GIG that thing. It's been deprived of
over 30 yrs worth of good times, and the best return on $20,000
would be to gig it nearly to death and hope I've made up for its
lost years :)

I wouldn't buy it as an "investment" as there are pleny of other
ways to invest cash. Peeps with cash to burn spend $20,000 on
tires, travel etc to race a car at an amateur level, just to enjoy
it, not cuz they're ever gonna be an international racing star. If
I wuz gonna spend a similar amount on personal entertainment
then I'd gladly help ol' Ray #1 make up for lost time, nicks and
dents be damnt, full speed ahead, got 35 yrs catching up to do !
