FWIW I think it's ok. Your initial post will obviously result in various forms of thinking and responses. In a F2F scenario a facilitator will ensure the debate is "healthy". I'm sure a mod will step in very quickly as invariably they do, if anything goes untoward.

No discussion stays on track all the time and when one person mentions anything to do with pricing, somebody will always jump in with a "it's so expensive in MY country". And then there will two or three people having one conversation for a few posts while other discuss another aspect. It's a forum. We like things to stay on topic and some topics never will.

Well to be completely fair, talking about Musicman prices regardless of country is still OT in my eyes, not everyone lives in the USA haha. Even a complaint is OT, it really isn't a big deal it's just one person's opinion that is different.

Most of the high-end brands are increasing their prices. For instance, Vigier increased his prices (10%) a few months ago.

Simple economics; we have more debt than revenue in the U.S. It's not gonna change any time soon. It's not just guitars, it's everything. Just my 2 cents.

If an EBMM guitar or bass has a slight price increase, I can deal with it. It is simple economics and prices will always raise over time. Plus, when I look at all of the cutting edge things that EBMM does, from putting out limited run guitar and basses to the general public to new models over the last 10 years i.e. Big Al, Bongo, Reflex, Game Changer etc. and the technology alone that is in the Game Changer, it excites me to what the future holds for the company. Heck, even look at the new tuners on the basses and the upgrades on new models. The new pre amp in the JP 13 or the new strings that have come out in recent years like the Cobalts and the new ones released this year at NAMM. When I look at all of that, I can deal with a price increase because I know that not only do companies have to do that due to inflation but EBMM is also experimenting with what will be our guitars and basses of the future or things that will be on the ones we have in the future.

Guys again take this in the context it was meant, not a bitching thread, not a whiners complaint thread, but a just the facts mam thread on the inevitable and noticeable increase from the largest MM distributor/retailer.
I have a MM green sparkle coming and am also looking for something else as well
Have fun and stay hardI hate to say but I picked up a used, but absolute mint Sterling bass at a reputable store in Toronto for $800. That was the asking price. I felt guilty to ask it was firm and just paid that price as I knew it was more than fair. The economy is a lot worse here in Ontario than people will admit.

Should not feel guilty, thats what was being asked got a damn good deal doesnt hurt to win sometimes

first off it has been YEARs..should be no surprise....we increased models that we LOST money on...its either that or discontinue them...I figure the market can decide if they want them to just discontinue them would deny someone the chance at getting one...
But Keith...tell me how you know that when gc's inventory goes down that the other prices will go up? GC is about 11% of world wide sales. SPeculation can turn into internet fact....there are no additional price increases on tap

EBMM guitar is the highest quality guitar at best price on this planet - hands down! Go ahead compare them to the PRS Artist - they're on that level, so go ahead!! Now, what's the price difference?? They're a bargain, and have been for many years (but, we here already know that, don't we).
And, quite honestly, the guitar scene has followed to a very large extent "marketing" devices to sell guitars, versus the quality of the instrument. There's only "one" guitar worth looking for in a guitar store, if it ain't there I don't buy at "any" price.

I NEVER mind paying extra for anything EB - the quality has always been there. And quite honestly, I think highly of the company and the CEO and am willing to support them (pay extra) for this reason as well (from the Music Man Wikipedia article):

Just read a book on the Best Business Decisions of All Time, this was one of them they cited that Henry Ford tried also to great results. Retain work force, and in Ford's case...the means to buy Fords. Hard not to be impressed by EB not only in the instruments, but also the company's DNA from ernie to sterling to brian and scott. Go team!
