howdy all,
thanks for all the compliments !!!! the newer video i purposely kept simple as possible . the one i did a few years ago was critiqued as boring, long and slow on youtube.the long and slow aspect was intentional to allow easier absorption. silly me. the boring part i couldn't help....
i'd be more than happy to answer any specific questions y'all may have so fire away.
i got my first musicman in 1979. i got my first ebmm in 87. it was a Silhouette. i was very happy w it until i found my current guitar in 1990. it's a standard morse. i have ate, slept, and breathed these guitars. i can tell you without a doubt they are the best production guitar in the world. still love love love mine !!!!!! and the company is uniquely amazing and supportive ...

Hi Tommy,
was great to watch you during 2 Slavkov concerts. :) Sadly it is not possible to meet anyone from crew.
I have two questions:

I saw before the Sunday concert (some 3 hours before the show) that you made a set up of Steve's number one. Once finished you took the guitar off the stage. Guessing that you gave it to Steve. :) Till that moment I thought that Steve is having this guitar always with him. Are you changing strings on all guitars before every gig?

Steve is using Digitech whammy in his rig. Is he using only octaver from it? If not, how do you switch to more options?

Thanks

i change the hard tails about every 3 shows. the whammy guitars are restrung about every 5 or so.
the dig tech whammy is used on 2 songs to provide a minor 3rd parallel harmony for a couple solos. and as an octave below on 2 other solos. it is switched by me during the shows.
#1 is almost always w/ steve unless i take it for restring the next day. i always carry #2. (killer ass proto Y2d)

Tommy, thanks a lot for the answer.
Strange that I didn't catch you switching the whammy. Do you have the ability to be invisible? :)

That #2 is Y2D with the plug in the pick-guard? Was that guitar at first equipped with 3 way switch and one two way switch, like on the Standard Morse guitar?

the hall of fame is the first pedal ever to routed back to the dry amp. it is done via the effects 2 loop & is programmed for a second option for the clean channel.(preset 2 on the engl Z9 midi switcher. typically used on the classical guitar section of smb shows.

Just to clarify: Steve plays the classical guitar through the clean channel of the Engl amp? Also, is there any other gear involved with the classical guitar pieces?

yes the classical is plugged into the engl using the clean channel. also a keely compressor is in front of the amp. then i turn myself invisible again and turn the clean gain to about 11 o'clock. also, the hall of fame is in the loop #2 during the classical tunes.

Tommy, another question: Does Steve use the compressor with the electric guitar, too? And how "clean" do you set the clean channel for the electric guitar?

Thanks!

Hello guys

I might be mistaken but during his NAMM 2014 performance Steve said he has just retired his original EBMM as the neck was too worn-out and, thus, now uses a new EBMM model as go-to guitar. Is this true or did I pick up something wrong?

Thanks!

tommy told me at the DP show in Regensburg, about two month ago, that they send it over for refretting for the 12th time and that he is not sure if it´s even possible, because of the worn out wood / fretboard.
for this tour steve used one of his finished roasted neck models he got in the past ( i guess it was in 2010) as his #1 guitar instead of his original #1.

So we might never see it again? :-O

Thanks for the info. This is very interesting. Are there any pics of the new model that he is currently using?
