Hey All,

I was trying out a JP12-7 in my local GC. I called CS to get a build date to see if its been hanging around for a while and she is brand spankin new.....As as I was checking it out I noticed way too much relief. I went to add relief and the truss rod wheel just kept turning, loose like it was going to spin off and nothing happened.

Anyone come across this? Fixes?

Can't say I have come across that, but, would have taken it right to their tech to let them mess with it.

Too much relief (lots of bow) in the neck means the rod needs to be tightened. Not enough relief (neck too flat, or convex), means the wheel needs to be loosened.

Moving the wheel 1 or 2 holes at a time can make a huge difference.

Thanks for the advice everyone.....not sure if I communicated clearly though....

The JP need relief, no question. The issue was when adding it the truss wheel spun off the rod, IE loose...I have never seen this before so I wasnt sure if this was an issue someone else has seen.

GC is sending it back to get sorted and I went another route (see my NGD Thread :))

Disclaimer: Def dont want to continue a discussion on QC issues or any nonsense like that. Of the 25 years of playing, 10 years of setups and playing EBMM's this is a first. Every shop will have an issue here and there. It seems EBMM has far less than any other maker I have experienced and I have experienced a lot with the other US, Japan etc etc makers....Its actually quite impressive it took this long to experience a bump in the road....lol...very impressive
