Dude, you can buy Mario's Axis in the for sale thread for $1200 and use it to harvest the trem and the pickups and still have a sweet Axis... Once it's done. That would solve a lot of issues

Amazing guitar. Congrats! Kudos to your plan to get her up and running again, makes me want an EVH even more!! Keep us posted on the restoration process. Can't wait to see how she turns out.

will do. The body is on its way to california for finish repair as of today! And to make my day even better, I had been searching every where in my house for a sealed original evh toggle switch that I had got with my blue one a few years ago and could not find it. I finally had given up and though maybe I sent it out with one of the ones I sold. Went down to the basement to do laundry and BOOM, theres my sealed replacement evh toggle switch on a shelf down there lol.

Nice Axe. You got lucky and there's nothing wrong with a little work. It'll help you two to build a close relationship, lol. I'm sure that my opinion doesn't mean too much being new here but I would keep it as original as possible. A little cleaning, a good tune-up and new strings and you may have a real gem... Congrats!

if you knew me as a person you would know Im only into as original as possible lol. When its done it should be as close to a brand new eddie as possible. I was going to send the neck out to ebmm for the fret job while the body is out so I could assemble when it gets back. I decided to wait for the body, assemble it then send it to ebmm so they can also do the wiring job at the factory. That is how ocd I am, any good tech could wire it for me but I would rather have the factory do it lol.

yes he did, looks like I am keeping her after all. New GOTOH bridge on the way. Unfortunately ebmm no longer has the gotoh style bridge replacements and I don't like the new style. Eventually an EVH bridge will pop up somewhere and Ill snatch it up. Im also thinking this might be a great opportunity to try some different bridge pups in the eddie, Im thinking a Suhr ssh+ is going to get a shot before I send in the evh bridge pup for an axis replacement. If all goes well it should be reassembled by the weekend. Will be a few months before I send the neck out to ebmm to finish the project. Then Ill have a nice near mint evh again.

Man, that looks great. I just ordered the Suhr DSH+ bridge pup for my Silo special. I'll let you know how that one sounds. I want my silo to sound warm like my Axis, 25th, and Super Sports.
