If we filter we are censoring...then we get the "constitutional rights" which is bogus...this is a corporate forum

The baby is a good analogy as these are all of our babies and the same decorum should apply.

The fracturing thing is that with each new and I mean NEW guitar the world of players have another choice....maybe not for them...or maybe not for tehm yet..but why get so rude over another guitar being produced?

[Moderator Voice ON] - As BP said we don't filter. We WILL on rare occasions delete some posts that are blatantly offensive or trolling but otherwise we leave 'em. Often there is good info and debate that should stay viewable. The forum is a resource.

Remember folks - don't feed the trolls. You don't need to jump to defend the company, or their products, or BP's. If there is a offensive or negative opinion that you think is inappropriate, don't fire a snarky response. When everyone chimes in, that's when the sh*t hits the fan. Send a PM to me and beej (or bovinehost or Rod Trussbroken) and we'll deal with it when the pot-roast is out of the oven and we've cleaned the dog poop off the floor (these things always happen at the worst possible time). OK? Thanks!

FWIW, I don't like forumites deleting their own posts. I'd prefer a little self-censorship BEFORE people click the "Post" button rather than after. Other forumite's subsequent polite discussion can end up strangely out of context and the thread gets quite confusing.

And opinions are like a**holes. Everyone has one. Surely we can share our thoughts, either positive or negative and still do it with decorum, and humour.

They might be your babies, but you are trying to sell them, no? So not like REAL babies. Unless you're into human trafficking which I doubt. So no, it's not a good analogy.

But I can agree with the other point that it's your company forums, your rules.

I don't know. I've never said anything "rude" about the Majesty, I've only said that it's not "my cup of tea" as you put it. But people always wants something to complain about so mhm, perhaps that's why. But what I meant was that instead of wasting your energy on these people, just delete the posts. If they continue, ban them. Getting upset and posting long long messages about it won't really stop them and it will only take time from you when you can do better things..

Gotta say when I have time to read through some of these posts it is almost comical how some folks get worked up over something so out of their control. I always said if you don't like it don't buy it.
I don't buy mulitple EBMM guitars for one reason and one reason only. The all rosewood ass I have is so damn good I don't need another guitar. I have owned up to 5 ebmms at one time but I keep coming back to this particular guitar and found it to be my best friend. Rest assured I will try the majesty when it lands locally, and I play the hell out of your strings, but it will be hard to displace my all rosewood ass hardtail...unless you ever make a 7 string ass. That might do it.
Lastly, a similar story. I worked at a premier optical company for years and we hit the tactical market hard. When we went to oversize 34mm and 35mm tubes and 6 to 1 magnification ratios, everyone laughed their asses off 11-12 years ago.
Every single scope maker now has a 3-18 x 50 of sorts on a 34-35mm chasis....they didn't have the BALLS to be so innovative and now bask in the glory of great sales because they copied our direction. You lead from the front folks, plain and simple. And the leading edge is the bleeding edge to be sure.
Keep up the good work. Love your dedication to your craft.

Does the geometric shape of the Majesty on the whole resemble that of a shovel?
Sure.

However, it has the hottest finish I've ever seen, perfect neck, and overall is just gorgeous and I have been drooling over it so much that I will soon have to replace my keyboard.

I just worked it out with GC and mine is on its way and is anticipated to be in my bedroom by July ><!

And to think a few months ago a neck-thru matte-finish JP was just a fantasy that I would dwell on alone during long holidays xD

So psyched ><!

When I saw the video with the Majesty from various angles, then it dawned to me that this is a beautiful guitar. Maybe the two-dimensional earlier pictures didn't give enough credit to this shape.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder....me, I think it looks terrific & I like the fact that it is different.
More importantly though, I saw JP live in London last Friday night and he must have used 3 or 4 different Majestys through the show & every one sounded absolutely awesome & immense. I've never taken Wembley to have that great acoustics but that Majesty rung out like a bell. Beautiful. At the end of the day it has to look good, feel right strapped on & sound great. To me it ticks all those so has to be a winner. (Myungs Bongo sounded pretty awesome too haha -Yes, much is the fingers of these top boys but it still has to get through & out of the instrument)
Congrats to the EBMM team. And to the likes of JP who do not sit still but constantly on the lookout for improvements and innovation. Everyone driving everyone on will always produce good results. Invention is only an extension of good work in progress after all
Cheers

<snip>

I look at the shape of the Majesty resembling more of the JP Shield emblem. Which gives it a more distinct "John Petrucci" look to the guitar. Same as when you see the monkey grip in the JEM guitar, first thing that comes to mind is Steve Vai.

Oh I'm not bashing on it I love it! Bought one XD!

But I find the shovel joke hilarious. Anyway shovel is the most metal gardening tool so... rock on!

I think the majesty looks like an Audi A/S 5 from the front if you look at it from the bottom up. I love it !

The problem is the JPX is about perfect in my eyes for that style of guitar. If the Majesty gets Petrucci's seal of approval I'm sure it kicks ass.
