hi,

can anyone help me on this, please? maybe a moderator :D
I recently bought a JP7 with SS frets and they completely blew my mind :))
I have a JP6 that I think I would like to have it refreted with SS frets.

on the mm site it says the JPs have "24 - High profile, wide, Stainless Steel"

I found this Jescar frets that look pretty close , at least in theory , because I don't have the JP frets dimension
https://www.jescar.com/?product=fs47104-s-stainless-steel-25-piece-set#tab-description
"Crown dimensions are 0.104″ wide and 0.047″ tall" - that would be medium-jumbo I think

also, are there any risks on refreting with SS frets? I know is harder to work with...is it so much more difficult for a guitar tech to install them and to make a proper fret crowning after installing them ?

thanks a lot

All techs are not created equal. I would ask the tech you plan to use for the refret what his thoughts are on stainless. If he balks, he's not the right guy. The closest Jescar wire to the JP is the 55x110. EDIT 57x110. The JPX I measured was 53x108 but if you allow for a margin of error you are very close.
