Just very curious here, there's an old thread with little useful info... the 6 and 7-string prototypes John Petrucci used on the show recorded as 2000's Live Scenes from New York DVD.

Does anyone have technical details of them?

What changed to the 1st production model?

Any pictures?

John still owns them?

Curious to hear any info on these as well. It is always intriguing to think that the design was still being finalized when Live Scenes was recorded with them.

I believe there was a very comprehensive site with lots of info regarding JP models and prototypes... I can't remember the name or URL right now :(

Is Ernie still around these parts? I bought an Autumn Red JP from him a few years back that's still here. I think he bought it as he saw it on ebay, even though he already had one.. :)

I have an original black sparkle JP6 from around the same time as Live Scenes was made.

I finally bought the 3CD set last week after having the DVD since its release, and glad I did. I've never had great TV speakers, and don't get around to the DVD that often. The sound is incredible, and I can't stop listening to it. May be my favorite rendition of SFAM since that was their focus at the time.

1st Live performance of SFAM was also John's first live performance with EBMM guitars. Celebrity Theater, Phoenix Arizona. I was there and was really surprised not to see him playing his (then) iconic Ibanez Picasso graphic RG. Jan 31, 2000.
