Ordered a Cutlass from Pete yesterday - and struggled with this same question. With that dark, inlay-less fredboard, I think the matching headstock could be an obvious choice, but I just couldn't bear to cover up that beautiful roasted maple. I normally wouldn't like that contrast, but all the roasted JPXs, JPs, and Lukes have grown on me. In addition, the Cutlass head is larger, and I was never a fan of Strats with finished headstocks, so ultimately I went with non-matching.

Mikey, wow man, congrats!!! Wish I could venture into this one, but negative cash flow issues.

Can't wait to see it man.

Is there an option for matching headstock? I personally really like a natural headstock on a roasted neck. I would say LIII natural headstock and Axis matching headstock (if available).

Matching headstock is available.

Are there going to be more Pictures of the other Models in that Finish? I can't decide which Model to choose.
Do the JPs have the First Fret Shield, or will it be without any Inlays?

We've only made two. No inlays on any of them.

St Vincent would be sexy in that outfit.

Is the Valentine part of this limited run too?

Both are available in this package. The St. Vincent will be the only one that doesn't come with a black pickguard. It will have white.

Couple questions if anyone knows the answer...

SS frets - are they the size that normally comes with the respective model or all the same size (jumbo) regardless of the model like the Neptune run?

For an Axis, will the back be black or the Starry Night finish and will it still have binding?

Just to add a few details that AJ just sent me in reply to an email:

- Non-matching headstocks will be SATIN finished, matching headstocks will be gloss
- Cutlass neck will be oil/wax finished, not satin

Mike

UPDATE: I misread AJ's email on the headstock finishes, so I corrected them above. Thanks for pointing that out to me Pete!

So this is a way to get a Cutlass (and I assume StingRay) with a roasted oil/wax neck?

Oh man...

I'll be out picking up aluminum cans by the side of the road if anybody sees my post count trail off over the next few weeks! :)

Yes, but since you quoted me, note my correction on the headstock finishes. I misread AJ's email - natural headstocks will have a satin finish.

Had a quick chat with AJ. The majesty will have the carbon fiber shield but the finish will be a satin finish... I'm torn...anyone ever seen a sparkle matte finish? Worried about it looking flat compared to the
Gloss. Thoughts gentlemen?

The Majesty matte finish will be flatter in appearance and have less sizzle than the gloss top models. We went for speed and playability for the neck this time around. It was either offer it this way or not at all, so we'll see if there is demand....

Thanks sir. Any chance for a swatch or pics of what the matte sparkle will look like?

This would have looked STUNNING on a JPX with all-black hardware... :(

Jup, thought so too.
I think Black Hardware would look Killer on all of the Starry Night Models.

Anyone catch the main body wood selection? PDN traditionally Mahogany... But I try not to assume things.

Nice Question.
I'd guess it's the Wood the Regular Model is made from?
