Please date the birth of 39627 (there's a tiny v carved before the serial number) MM Stingray. Much appreciated!

January 20th, 1994.

Hello everyone and good day!
My MM Stingray 4 has a number D10169.
When it is made?

This serial number isn't coming up in the database. Is there any chance that it could be something else?

All I know is that they had been assembled in Japan. Attaching photo. Number seen under the strings.

is it just a jpx or some other variant?

This one is a JP6 BFR that was completed on July 8th, 2014. The color is Island Burst with the Ebony fretboard. It was originally built for the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands account.

Can I have any information about this StingRay e25214, I saw the DOW, color ecc. what kind of wood was used?

Thank you

Completed September 28th, 2001. The body wood is Ash with the Maple neck.

All I know is that they had been assembled in Japan. Attaching photo. Number seen under the strings.

Thanks for providing the photos. Unfortunately these ones were never imputed into the serial number database so we don't have production records or date of birth available for them. We did several runs in the past were we sent parts to Kanda Shokai Corporation (our Japanese distributor) and they were assembled and setup in Japan.

Thanks for the info RE: the stingray 5. Serial 56413.

I was just wondering if you'd have a ball park price for selling it without the original pre amp? The previous seller installed a bartolini Ntmb -918 f preamp in it as he must've fried the original pre. I understand there's no chance of getting a replacement pre for it, am I correct? Any help you can give me I appreciate. Thanks.

Joel, thanks for the reply! Is it possible somewhere to find traces of the production? I am interested in guitar manufacturing year.

The preamps are proprietary so we do require the original damaged one be sent in to the factory and retained before we can sell the replacement (we would not be able to sell the replacement preamp if you sent in the Bartolini). Unfortunately we don't offer appraisals, the replacement preamp for this StingRay 5 would be $95.00 if you were able to track down the original damaged preamp.

Unfortunately the serial number database didn't come around until after Ernie Ball took over the company in the late 1980's. There is usually a date stamp in the neck pocket and pickup cavity that will give you an idea of the production time. There is also a great reference website to compare it to similar serial numbers, http://musicmanbass.org/mycustompage0052.htm. Sorry we don't have more information for you.

Hello.

Can I get a little bit more information about a Stingray 4 with Serial number E22554?

Thanks in advance.

This StingRay 5 was completed on April 26th, 2001. The color is Translucent Gold with the Rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped to Modern Guitar.

Just got a new to me Stingray 5. Serial E32600. Can you post the info please? Thanks!

This StingRay 5 was completed on July 18th, 2002. The color is Black with the Rosewood fretboard & matching headstock. It was originally shipped to Truetone Music.

Unfortunately there were no production records kept for these ones. They are authentic Ernie Ball Music Man instruments, but they were shipped to Kanda Shokai to be assembled so they were never imputed into the serial number database. We've done this several times in the past so it's difficult to say which run it's from. The best bet in dating it would be to check if the pots or pickup have any dates that might give you an idea. Sorry we don't have more information for you.
