Brand New here...Reflex, Luke iii? Help!!!!

Ok, so I came across some videos recently of both the Reflex HH and the Luke iii. Wow! They seem to be amazing guitars. I have been a Les Paul Junky forever, and have had my flings with Strats over the years. Which Music Man from these two mentioned would be the most Les Paul like as I have played Pauls the most. I love my Pauls, but something is missing in both, and friends tell me that Music Man is the way to go for that 'Missing' part. I love the stability of my strats, but I love the beef of my Pauls.

I need some Ernie Ball direction. I love the look, and tones I saw on Luke iii videos of Steve recently. Sounds like they might be right up my ally.

Luke III might be the one for you.

It's as close as you can get of having a Strat and a Les Paul in one guitar. (Though not on the vintage vibe, it's definetly on the "modern" side, which is great too.)

HSS or HH are both fantastic.

But if I were you...I'd still try an Albert Lee HH at first. It's the ultimate axe.

And is the only guitar whose "splitted- humbucker" sounds are out of this world!!!

Personally I bought my Reflex instead of a LP - because I wanted a guitar that would actually stay in tune

Have never played a HH AL, but from what I hear around here they are also awesome.
The L3 is great, but obviously only come with a trem bar...

Think you'll be on the money with anything suggested here. I love my AL HH. It's got some mean les Paul tone but with more versatility due to its switching configuration.

If you're looking for a Strat feel, LP/strat tone, the LIII is the answer. I've always though the LIII was the best of LP/strat together..

If you're used to Les Paul scale/size, the Armada is the closest guitar at 24 3/4 but I've never played one.

I've owned Luke I, Luke II and LIII, Albert Lee HH, Axis SS and just recently got a 25th Anniversary (same as Reflex). They are all quite different guitars. None of them felt like a Les Paul to me. Sound is subjective. Guitars with humbuckers will get you into the ball park. Only the LIII has different humbuckers. The Al HH and Reflex both have the same humbuckers as the Axis.

Out of all of them, my favorite is currently the 25th/Reflex. I like the size, weight and really love comfort contours of this design. The chambered body gives it a different resonance. I'm sure the mahogony tone block plays a part in the sound of the guitar too.

Also, if you go for the Reflex, you'll be getting the Game Changer version, which may or may not be to your liking. There are lots of used Reflex out there though.

I know this wasn't mentioned but I really think a Morse can do everything. I was playing my morse in guitar center the other day and the salesman said "WOW that went from les paul tones to strat tones to tele tones ".
I love them and I have four of them and use them in my country band , modern rock cover band and also the classic rock band I played in and it never disappointed. great guitars.

I've been a Les Paul Custom owner since '87. Love it to bits but there are a lot of tones I'd like that I could not get and I played around with lots of other guitars trying to find the right fix. I just got my Majesty (6) last week and love it. It's tiny and probably half the weight of the Les Paul. Looks are subjective but from my perspective it's the best looking EBMM out there (except for the head; still getting used to it). Of course what you play a guitar through is critical; my toys are a Marshall 6100LE and an Axe FX II.

I know what you mean. Im so used to the LP headstock, so the Musicman is a bit tough to get used to visually on the headstock, but the body is hot enough to distract me! lol
