Anyone else be kinda upset at Banjo if he hasn't done a deeper dive into Steve's other music by dixie dregs and steve morse band?
And more recently his amazing contributions to flying colors?

I mean, besides me and kevin...

Get on it Banjo if by some bizarre explanation you haven't

sorry didn´t quite get it, Keith
Are you referring to my unintended ignorance in American Music for not knowing Bela Fleck?
I´m familiar with Morse's portfolio.... :D:cool:

Oh good!
Didn't know if you were just into Purple and not Steve's other stuff.
Was hoping you were.
I might have to listen to some Flying Colors this weekend. His playing is so lyrical in that band....gets better every listen

Love Flying Colors! Also Dregs and SMB. It´s a bit sad that his solo activities got less since he´s playing with Purple that much. But without Purple we wouldn´t see him live that often here in Europe I guess.
Purple was kind of my starting point when Blackmore was still in the band. That´s why I also went to his Rainbow Gig last year (you can see me on the DVD :p ). But after Steve Morse joined them and blew me away in some live concerts back then I listened to all his stuff since then

Since we're turning your thread into a Morse-fest :)

I was reading Guitar Player magazine and heard about Morse and the craaaaaazy stuff he was doing - so I bought his latest album (at the time), which was "What If" in 1978 - and it blew me away!!!

That's when he replace Ace Frehley as my guitar hero - and cut me some slack on the Ace Frehley stuff, I was 13 years old. :)

Have been a fan ever since.

My 23yo daughter just had her first child less than a year ago - and she got out HER baby book, from 1993. There's a page in there about "mommy" and "daddy" and on the daddy page it asked me to list my favorite musical artists. Two are on there: Rush and Steve Morse.

Great story :) It's always a pleasure to read such posts and conversations.
I have a beard, I like coffee a lot… It's time to buy a Morse ;)

Cheers!

Mordimer, great mug! Is it wooden?
Your JP with the covered PUs in your instagram looks great.
And yes - you´re just missing a Morse for the BMPC!
With beard, coffee and a JP you have to play in the BJPPC, I think John is there already

Thx! The mug is ceramic, a friend of mine made it for me. I'm thinking about getting another one with imprints of guitar strings :)
I think I'm closer to be a member of BMPC than BJPPC. JP's "beard level" is out of my reach :D

I heard Morse for the first time when I was ~11. I watched my older brother's VHS tape with Deep Purple concert :) It was recorded after release of Purpendicular album, which is still one of my favourite albums. Morse playing is amazing - musically and technically. Oh, memories…

PM your address - I'm working on getting a mug to you - they're only available online in Europe and I'd like to ship it directly so that you at least get it before your 20th anniversary.

Kevin

Look what arrived at my place: My Music Man 10th Anniversary mug sent by Kevin!!!:eek:
Thanks Kevin (we´ve PM´d already)!!!!
I´ve just re-read here that your plan was to send it directly. Now you told me it traveled from the UK to US and then to GER. Crazy!
Great place, great people

Great story, great pics banjo!
I agree 100% about the Morse!
And good idea having it signed on the back of the headstock. I had Steve sign mine just behind the tailpiece and it's now "Steve Mo..". Sigh

KennyB, if your avatar is still current, you definitely need to grow a beard ... You already have a Morse ...
