Jason, that is one sweet looking and sounding bass. The tone blew me away when I heard you playing it at GC. Did you find a practice amp to your liking? I'm still lovin' the TI Jazz Rounds. This is the tone I've been looking for.

You'd be surprised how quickly you learn to play w/out lines. I have a lined fretless a luthier-friend made for me, and an unlined el Capitan fretless 5, and now prefer the unlined -- I play better on it - partly because I'm not looking - and I play it more like a fretless, somehow.
Not that there's anything wrong with lines, .....

I'm one of those crazy people, who actually likes the look of the lines on the Pao faro board. Although there are several professional players that actually suggest lines on fretless- Jimmy Haslip for one.
