where did you go to purchase the fretless bongo

I believe you can order a fretless (on the models where that's an option) from any EBMM dealer. You are unlikely to find one sitting on the shelf of a retail store.

Unless that retail store is BassNW, or Bass Central--both of which have fretless Bongos in their current online inventory. :D

I belive that unfortuanly, Pete is out of town. Out of North America even...in Holland. So we might be waiting for those Bongo pics for quite some time.

Well, imagine this but a bit more buttery... ;)

Oh, and pretend the wicker place mats are one of those sweet caramely-goodness cases. :(

Very nice - piezo bridge, right? Butter that up and add some lines and that's my future! :D

I mean, how would I ever know where to put my fingers!? ;)

Jason, that is one sweet looking and sounding bass. The tone blew me away when I heard you playing it at GC. Did you find a practice amp to your liking? I'm still lovin' the TI Jazz Rounds. This is the tone I've been looking for.

Thanks--but, it's easy to make a Bongo sound good. :D

That makes me very happy that the Jazz Rounds fit the bill. They are an amazing, yet overlooked, string.

Decided to hold off on the practice amp--I'm working on a frankenbongo, instead....

You'd be surprised how quickly you learn to play w/out lines. I have a lined fretless a luthier-friend made for me, and an unlined el Capitan fretless 5, and now prefer the unlined -- I play better on it - partly because I'm not looking - and I play it more like a fretless, somehow.

Not that there's anything wrong with lines, ..... ;)

Did a search... Read some lined vs. un-lined commentary...

Now thinking 'bout going completely naked! ;)

I'm one of those crazy people, who actually likes the look of the lines on the Pao faro board. Although there are several professional players that actually suggest lines on fretless- Jimmy Haslip for one.
