Here is what I have to deal with. THis is a post on an EVH forum that Knox forwarded to me........

That's really nice. Just another day in the wild wild world of cyberspace. As Bugs Bunny would say, what a maroon.

Rereading the last page of this thread is really weird. With the deleted posts and responses, it looks like I've been commenting on a different thread.

I have nothing to say here.
I'm only posting because I can't get to page 5 and am hoping this will bring me there so I can see it! :p

Yeah I got an email from ALI this morning. THey have a recurring themem that EVH made our company. I guess if that was remotely true they would have a point. From my perspective that is selling all of my fathers accomlishments short as many of mine and the team. I guess when you figure the Beatles used Slinky's Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, eagles guns and roses... to modern heroes, dont forget all of the stingray players , keith Richards and the silhouhette (which is how we got EVH's attn) that is a hard position to take unless you are fixated on evh and lack serious business accumen. It terms of revenue EVH era probably represents 1-2% of our profit for the years he was there.
The irony here is that this thread was a relaxing of the evh standards here and it was met with the most resistance from two scottsman.

I met with 15 regional district managers yesterday from GC to help with training and they said that the replicas were put on display yesterday and cannot be sold for two weeks. They have deposits on thirty which is quite good but over all not a great deal in terms of units but a windfall for Fender and EVH, If they do sell their 300 it will be $7.5 million dollars in revenue at retail.

Either way to compare me with Hitler is really an example of how bizarre our former member is.

Who is EVH?

Just kidding, sorta. I know he helped brand EBMM for awhile, and got a lot of players tuned into the fact that EB actually makes guitars, but gimme a break. MM basses have been legendary for a long time, and any current serious guitar player knows that EB makes a fine line of guitars, even if their personal choice is another brand, for whatever their reason.

Candidly, I think this forum is moderated pretty tightly, as far as content goes, but hey, it's a private enterprise. No shirt, no shoes, no service. Hope government never legislates that prerogative out of existence. It's hard enough to run a business these days.

BP as Hitler is sorta comical to my head. I can't imagine drinking beer and laughing with ole Adolf, where as BP seems like an old friend I haven't met yet. A sometimes grumpy old friend, but hey, ain't nobody perfect. 'Sides, there's not enough men anymore with strong character. That's one thing BP has a lot of. There's something secure and reliable about that - something that makes you want to buy a guitar from the guy. Wimps need not apply.

I was actually of the opposite opinion, but I am a n00b still. I think the little moderation I have seen has been about keeping the EB forum on topic. Without the gentle stearing, there would be a danger of it being just about gear and guitars, we can find lots of forums dedicated to everything.

I even now don't think it is a commercial decision to keep it on topic, as I see many of the EB staff here stating thier respect and like for other brands, I simply think it is a case of keeping it a forum for EB stuff.:)

thanks candid
Water seeks its own level and so does moderation. Wild and free forums die a quick death because of trolls and keyboard warriors. I may be grumpy when people really dont think things through or post a frowny face and negative title when it has nothing to do with us. I would love no rules, it just doesnt work in the real world. Having to ban people is no fun (except for.....)but we gain more than we lose by keeping the difficult people out.

The reality is that we get to set the tone and content.

NOw lets have fun.......

Knoxx is Irish, Ali is from Central belt - And we're not All bad!

It's a shame this has gone the way it has, I have to say that when I was a newcomer I had very little knowledge of this fine company beyond Evh and I suppose that's where a lot of people stop looking, if you go beyond you see the greater (in my humble opinion) the AL's the JP's the Lukes.....

The whole EBMM thing doesn't seem to get everyone - or everyone doesn't seem to get the WHOLE EBmm thing, and that's the real shame... so much more beyond EVH.

So does this mean I get priority shipping to Scotland now !?

There are a bunch of the forummembers on one of the VH forums complaining about him deleteing everything that links to EVH and what ungrateful sod he is.

I delete more off-topic EVH threads than BP has ever seen, so please - send the villagers up to Castle Bovine.

... who the hell has ever heard of Steve Morse and ALbert Lee outside of that forum.

That speaks volumes about the knowledge and maturity level of whoever made that asinine statement - as well as anyone who actually thinks there's a shred of truth in it.

He owes Eddie bigtime, and he bloody well knows it!

BP once borrowed 75 cents from EVH and forgot to repay it. I don't call that 'big time' and you heard it here first.

You show those who support you and purchase your products zero respect. You know nothing about looking after those who keep your fat arse
above water.

First, you're dead wrong. Anyone on this forum for any time at all (and with a brain more complex than that of a salamander's) knows damned well that this is a quid pro quo deal and that we, the customers, almost always get the better end of it. So let me just say this once on the forum - STFU.

Second, his arse is not fat. It's retaining water, if you must know.

The irony here is that this thread was a relaxing of the evh standards here and it was met with the most resistance from two scottsman.

Give 'em an inch.

Now! Since the trouble has been removed, let's carry on and have fun.
