3 way Switch n a JPX?

Hey guys I'm new to EBMM and the forum and have a question. I've had GAS for a John Petrucci for a while now and bought a JPX in Turquoise Pearl with a roasted maple neck. Love the guitar! The 5 way......not so much. Gets in my way when on the neck pickup.

Has anyone ever swapped out the 5 way on a JPX for a 3 way like the JP6? If so do you have pics?

The standard JP 3-way is not a drop-in replacement without drilling. Don't think anyone has done this mod, that I've seen. I prefer the 3-way switch as well and I do knock into mine on the JPX on occasion.

Would a "shorter" stem help at all??

I may look into a shorter stem. I am getting used to working around it. Love the guitar so I guess I can live with it. I am looking into another JP model so I have 2

Please post a pic of your Turquoise pearl! I do believe I have never seen one in that colour!
