Just FYI, Musician's Friend now carries them. Going to order the neck cleaner/conditioner.

Can anyone yet say from experience if the string cleaner noticeably prolongs the life of strings?

PS and OT, I'm totally sold on those Jazz III blacks now! Ordering more of those too.

Ordered both the string and neck wipes. They'd better make me play better or I'll be pissed.

Hammers are damn lucky with that points decision - someone is looking after them!! ;)

OT: Ha ha! I was driving along the Barking Road (2 mins from Upton Park) when I heard about the decision on the radio.

Popped in the stadium shop and spent about £30 on stuff I didn't really need to help out with the £5.5m fine.

Well it all helps I suppose!:D

Back on topic:

I've been experimenting with my wipes and it appears that the do what they say on the tin!

Makes the birds eye come up all lovely when it's shiny from fretboard wipe!:D

sorry to hijack... bungo waht are you up to on monday 14th... my mates have a gig and they are amazing, the bassist plays the hell out of an sr5... free gig, starts early, u should come

Hi tiffles

I rarely go out on a school night but rather strangely (especially knowing you have a connection with the Dominion), I have tickets for We Will Rock You that night, mostly because it's the 5th anniversary show and it's highly likely that Brian May and Roger Taylor will be joining in proceedings.

Thanks for thinking of me. Let me know about future gigs and I'll do my best!

So, do tell more about the band anyway? Who, what, where, how loud? etc etc :D

(Currently 1-0 to Spurs...NEVER thought I'd say this, esp after 4-3, but GO SPURS! Wow what a weekend it's been... I was rooting for Arsenal yesterday - someone slap me!) :D

Can't say whether they prolong the life of my strings cuz I change them after 15 - 20 hours of play regardless. I would change em more often but I'm too lazy to do it every week.

What I can say, is that during that period, the strings feel a heck of a lot better under the fingers. The cleaner makes em retain that kinda bite on your fingers that a new set does, and the *pring* seems to be there a lot longer.

I think the wipes do an extraordinarily good job of cleaning the strings and make playing a much nicer experience. Put it this way, if you aint tried em, go buy a pack, and if you think they aint worth the money, I personally will refund ya cash. Thats how confident I am that anyone that tries em, will love em. You will of course have to send the rest of the pack to me to claim the refund.:) But, none the less, I will stand by my guarantee.

For real, that often? I guess I am way too lazy then.

Yeah, I was shocked when I realised, may even be less.

2-3 x gigs per week, average 1 hour 45 per gig.
Average practice at home mon-fri maybe 8 hours.

Maybe more like 20 - 25 hours. Its the gigs that kill em the most. Sweat, dead skin, smokey atmosphere, smoke machine, my beer spillage, the occasional bit of blood, all goes towards the strings getting knackered really quick. You wouldn't believe how much gunk the wipes remove and quickly.

If you gig the pubs n clubs, your guitar aint that much different than a pub table.

What a cool photo display of the wipes in use -

Also, you can use the fretboard conditioner with guitars that have lacquered necks, but use the instrument polish for the back of the neck, as you would with the body of the instrument.

Cheers to all who dig the WW.

You can always wipe or change your strings.....what used to worry me was that all that crud was also building up in my throat and lungs from singing for 3 hours at a stretch. And smoking was compulsory it seemed. Hooray for the ban.
