I really wonder what was being said. Dave looks pissed and Randy seems irritated as well while Paul looks like he's wondering what he did.

Dave: He says you should play with headphones
Randy: No way, then how can I feel the bongo vibe, dawg?
Paul: Its' ok, I just use these so I can hear the drummer over that bongo

Dave... What's the differance between a guitar player and a large pizza?
Randy... Don't know dawg.
Dave... A large pizza can feed a family of four.
Paul... I like pizza.

That's a particularly ODD photo because if you've never met Dave LaRue, he's one of the nicest guys you'd ever hope to meet. Also, he knows a lot more notes than you do.

You guys are going tabloid on me...Dave is graciously giving up his bass for a song that he was supposed to bplay on...Randy was having so much fun He wanted to play too....Dave is showing him cues....paul was the bandleader on most of the night...I soon stepped in and told them they both were playing....What you see here is guys actually caring at a free gig...the rehearsal was totally fun but super professional...WE have it on film...it should be required for any band....the drummer wasnt futzing around while the other guys are figuring out their parts...the keyboard player was ready to show everybody thier part if there was a question...Jim cox is a musicologist and a near savant....he can play any part of just about any song ever recorded...The other guitarist weren't noodling while people were trying to talk....The result was what many say was the best night of music in the history of NAMM.

I understand and didn't expect anything less from guys of that level BP. It was just a funny looking photo. Dave looks pissed, Randy looks serious, and Paul looks like he's been caught in the cookie jar.

So, no disrespect meant to any of them. All monster players and all great guys. Just a funny "looking" moment that was caught in time.

And I would have sold Ben into white slavery to be there. I am REALLY hoping the unwashed masses (I am a proud member) get to buy the DVD someday.

BUT I know and you know Dave LaRue was playing the entire time. He just turns his bass down. You can carry on an involved conversation with Dave and he's all there, he's paying attention, meanwhile you realize he's playing Bach very quietly. He can't help himself - but he does turn his volume down. Total pro.

What Jack said!!!! I was never a huge Dave fan until one of the Knuckhead get togethers. Was was asking Dave some questions - questions I am sure he has heard a 1000 times before - he smiled, answered politely and made me feel like I was the center of attention AND he was playing, very lightly, some piece that nearly made my brain explode. Talent and professionalism - wow.

If you told me Dave had ever been angry, even once, I would require video evidence in order to believe it.

And Jack, that might have been an option way back; but I don't bring what I once did on the Eastern European market. You likely would have gotten as far as Tucumcari on the proceeds of my sale.

I love all of these guys and Jim Cox is a God to me! It was such a pleasure to talk to him at the open house BP, thanks again Pops!

Amen and amen to all that. I was happier than a pig in whatever pigs like to be in to say to Jimmy Cox, "I cannot believe I got to play with you. I mean, this is BIG for me."

He's looking around the room and taking in all these Other Big Rock Stars and he smiles and says, "With ME?"

I said, "Aiyup. I can lord this over my guitar player for the rest of our lives."

And I do, too, especially when questions come up about how to arrange a certain song or what chord is that - I say, "Quiet, you! I played with Jimmy Cox!" And that ends the discussion.
