My aunt was in town today and tweaked my Comfort Strapp for me. We cut off almost 4 inches of the slider part! My bass is right where I want it now. I am very happy indeed. The thing I noticed right away is the higher the bass is the more evenly the weight seems to be distributed by the strap. No more neck pain. Ahhhhhhhhhhh. Did I mention I'm a happy camper yet? :D

I understand what you're saying, but the rock and roll boys will make fun of you if your bass is too high, believe me.

the but I'm in your camp,

Yes. A bass is not a necktie.

Get the upper horn to hit ya in the top of the ribcage, just about right. At least for me.

I never cared about impressing posers. The rock and roll boys can go play with themselves. :D

If you strap it where you are comfortable who cares what anyone else thinks? It is the music you make that counts.

(By the way, I'm about the same height as Meshell. We're so tiny we need to bring the bass up just to reach. Shrinky dinks unite!!! :p)

it's definitely a compromise between the comfort of each hand. lower is great for my picking hand, higher is easier for my fretting hand.

mine pretty much pivots at my belly button that's about where the neckplate is.

any of you all ever see peter hook of new order? i think he used two belts to get his bass down around his knees. i have no idea how he didn't get hand cramps.
