Hi there everyone. I have not posted on here for what feels like a lifetime! New job, family growing up, gigging..you know the story. Just wanted to say HI and tell you about a new mod i had done.
After many years of playing my beloved ASS with a mixed flame/quilt top, it fell out of favour. During this time i thought it would be great to do some tinkering with it.
Mod 1. Unbeknown to me the guy who looked at my guitar last damaged the pickup wiring and i had only been using one of the coils from the bridge humbucker.....no wonder i could not get my tone!!! After a bit of shopping around i managed to get a Dean Vinnie Moore pickup to fit in the ASS. AHHH tone back!
Mod 2. I had been thinking about this for years but finaly had the balls to do it. Full re fret with JD 60100 and a new nut.
Just got it back from my tech and the results are amazing. It really suits me and my playing style. Its getting gigged tomorrow night to see how it plays at volume and in the heat of battle. Dont be scared to try this mod but just make sure that you dont trim the ends of the fret too much or the high e string may slip off the board. Mine is just right.
The result of this story...................its my number 1 guitar again!!!
Take care guys and glad to be back in the family.
