A question relating to JPMM piezo

Hi, I would like to ask a question relating to a piezo on my JPMM 6-string…while the magnetic pickups volume knob is set to lowest and piezo volume knob is still set to max there is a short sound signal going out of the guitar. In other words my guitar is not completely silent when magnetic p-ups volume knob is set to lowest and piezo volume knob is not. This is most noticeable while using distortion or overdrive sound, however if I set the piezo volume knob to lowest or just lower, the “hum” disappears and the guitar is silent completely. Since I don’t have much experience with piezo I would like to know if this is just ok or it’s some kind of problem… thanks guys :)

Well I've just replaced the battery and it didn't help...dunno maybe it's not a problem really, but still... :)

How are you using the Piezo? How is it connected? Most likely if you are plugging straight into a PA or something similiar you are experiencing a ground loop. You need to get a direct box that has a ground lift. This will remove the hum.

I use it standardly throught mono/piezo input plugged in my amp. Just have been wondering if it's normal issue or just mine :), btw isn't that box only used when you're plugged in stereo mode?

Have you tried adjusting the 'mix' pot on the back of the jack plate? If you're using a mono cable, that sets the volume of the piezo relative to the mags.

Yep, tried that too, the effect still stays, maybe someone with JPMM could try that for me, if he also has that sound signal while piezo volume knob is up and mag. volume knob is down...thanks a lot

Yep you're right I've noticed that already.... when my mag volume is on "zero", there is still some signal going through....

I notice it when I play loud during rehearsal, not at home, where I play quietly....

Perhaps.. contact Customer Service and talk to them about it. They should give you a solid answer and are there for anything you need. :) Good people they are! :)
