Actually working......

THis painting hung in the original Tarzana Store where it all began. THis is where all the pros would shop and get their stirngs set ups and hang. The painting was painted by Roland Fargo Crump...He was a childhood friend of my fathers (How many Rolands are in a class....Roland was my dads given name)

Crump went on to be one of Walt Disneys tope three art directors and integral to the Disney style. His most lasting contribution at Disney was "Its a Small World' which was commissioned for the Words Fair in 1959.

Crump did the ERnie Ball logo the striped ball whtat we still use and the Slinky lettering.
My dad asked Rollie to paint the history of the guitar from the spinx to early rock N roll This painting was painted in 1962 and has hung in all of our businesses except for the temp facilities in indio.....
I will post later some more Crump art.

That is too cool, boss.

I'd love to see some more artwork - and what a name!

Do you have any photos of the Tarzana store?

Thanks for posting this. Great to know the actual history behind some of the most famous logos in musical instrument history. :)

Thanks for the story BP, that is too cool.

I agree that we need an area in the forum for the history of EBMM. This is what I love about this forum, the stories and the history. I saw that picture in the SLO facilities for several years and never made the connection.

Its a small world at Disneyland will take on a new meaning now. I will have to pay more attention to the art work inside the ride.
