If dreams came true, I'd have bricks and mortar and really excellent espresso for the walk-ins and keep up the internet sales, too, because I think you're exactly right.

And two or three rehearsal rooms, too. Drums, guitar amps, maybe a rudimentary PA for vocals, because we all know that you don't really know what a bass is going to do until you play it in a band situation.

And a setup guy because who wants to buy a bass that isn't set up properly?

And some basses with FLATS, too, because we are many, even if no retailer wants to admit it.

Also black light posters, because they're cool.

He already has a cheapy Yamaha keyboard, a Dean playmate acoustic (it's a little bitty thing), a Squier Bullet bass and a Squier Strat single pickup jobby, all picked up on the cheap, mostly when Mars was going out of bidness.

And he's only four. I guess you can say I will encourage him!

Actually, winding up way off topic here, he has, since the tender age of two, absolutely loved Fear Factor. Which confused me, because he refused to watch the segments where they eat worms and baby ducks and scorpions and so on, but the rest of the show? Oh hell yes. He was in.

Finally, when he got a little bit older and could put sentences together, I asked him what he liked about Fear Factor since he covered his eyes during the eating weird stuff part.

"They girls are hot", he said.

Finally, I got it! They ARE hot, usually, and he was extremely attentive when they were in bathing suits!

Like his father, he has figured out early on that girls are not icky.

Who knew?

I like that boy.
