Off Topic Amp Suggestions please! Less than 30 Watts

I loved my Princeton reverb 65 reissue.... Great clean channel for building off of. I am also loving the Suhr Bella amp and think it may be my next amp... It's 44w but switchable to 22w.... So it would fit in with the 30w or less requirement and still give you the head room if you need/want something different
 
Suhr Bella is a fantastic amp.... and a great base for pedal enthusiasts.


I'm sticking with my first suggestion--- the MK V:25 is one of, if not 'the', best and most versatile amps I've ever played through.... and a great base for pedals/effects.

I think of great amps as a really nice steak... You can cook it on its own and it will be great, but you could add seasoning and make it perfect. Effects are the seasoning on a great amp.
 
If you can find one, the new Roland Blues Cube Stage or Artist are really great sounding and versatile! They've been on back order just about everywhere for the last 3 months though.

It's a sweet amp and I can't wait to get mine! Not sure when it will come back in stock though. I can confirm that it works great with pedals.
 
I have narrowed things down to one of the following:

Mesa Boogie Lone star (the Mark V 25 is nice but just not what I need)
Dr Z Maz 18
Suhr Badger
Matchless Spitfire 15
Matchless Chieftain

any other suggestions along these ?
 
Out of those I'd pick the Lonestar, but you should really consider the Mark25.

The Mark V:25. TRUST me. You say it's not what you need, and then you list a bunch of amps that the V:25 is better than. I don't get it... This is my last attempt to save you from a major mistake. ;)

I'm not typically a mesa fan. More of an old fender with pedals/occasional marshall user. The mark V 25 is the first mesa amp that's really turned my head. That thing looks very cool.
 
If you're at all open to something without tubes, you should really consider checking out the Quilter tone block 200. It's a solid state 200 watt amp that weighs 4 pounds. It sounds GREAT at whisper quiet volumes up through gigging volumes. Just thought I would recommend since you mentioned a single channel amp that takes pedals well. I use this amp right on my pedalboard.

It really is an incredible little amp... And cheap.

I'd stay away from an amp that has no mid control.
I've made this mistake once. Never again.
