After re-reading the press release, I must have imagined the trans-black.

It just says a figured maple top with a 3-ply black underneath. So the color was not mentioned at all, except for the part we're guessing is the binding.

No mention of whether the guard would be removed in lieu of the figured top, but that guard has always been a part of the Silo's overall look and I'm wondering if they would remove it for an anniversary model?

Like I said, Foggy, I'm just guessing. I know the back and the sides of the Axis and the Y2D are black.

This leads me to believe no pickguard at all, and a construction similar to the Axis, y2d, and old neck-thru JP proto

The veneer is in between the maple and alder / ash body that makes the body.
no pickguard
The alder / ash will be stained dark red

I hope that the preimum top option will not be available for this. Just all quilt and they are all good.

The LE will be black non trans even for the axis
This means:
Rosewood on the axis
Gold Floyds on the axis and standard SM models

It is all kind of confusing at this point, but all I know is that EVERYHTING sounds AWESOME anyway!!!! HOW can it NOT be awesome people!!! I think I mentioned the trans-black first. becase that's what it sounded like, but the description was kind of confusing not really saying what the top color WAS. Anyway, I'm sure we shall find out very soon, and I REALLY want to see the picture of the 20th Ani Silo !
