BUY RESOLUTION!!

Ok.. Compare and Contrast time :

AT100 and Silo

Ibanez-AT100-1.jpg
MMANSIL001.jpg

looks similar too me.. Just do a pickups change..

AT100 body is Alder, so does Silo..

AT100 is hard to get, but Silo sunburst is available on your local dealer and cost cheaper..

Do the math..

And the Silo is much nicer looking as well. Those pointy horns on the Ibby scare me! lol

i have an ibby Roadstar II and it rocks, plus the craftmanship is really great, but the Silo is so much nicer.

Wow... Andy Timmons.

Well there's a guy who would definately constitute an excuse to make a 3rd BFR product, no?

But seriously... if not EBMM, he should join Suhr or Anderson. Anyone a fan of either John Suhr or Tom Anderson?

That guitar is awesome! I've got the same, but with 'buckers. I bet those SC's are sweet.

BTW, when I first read the title of this post, I was thinking of Andy Summers :D

Love Andy's playing. Terribly under-appreciated player.

From a commercial perspective, it's hard to justify throwing big bucks for this "free agent signing" if it's true about the Ibanez thing. Tons of credibility and everybody says he's a nice guy. Draws a good crowd on the clinic circuit but........just doesn't move product. A few dealers/distibutors still have '04 AT300s sitting there. AFIK no one has ever come into the shop asking to get the AT tone on a Lone Star either.

But we all know that EBMM isn't all about money......so go get him! I think it's a good match.

That really signifies nothing. Everyone who knows whats what knows how coveted Petrucci's tone is, yet no practically stores carry Mark IV's. I asked at a few different guitar centers around the country, and I always got similar answers. "Yeahhhh, those were popular back when they came out, but we don't get a lot of demand for them these days." Riiiight.

The Mark IVs are some of the best sounding and versatile amps that we sell. We don't keep many in stock, because very few of our customers are gonna' walk in and throw down that kind of money on an amp that hasn't changed in over 15 years....they want the latest greatest, fire-breathing gain monsters.....then, they come hear us playing, and say"damn....what is that? has that been modded????

I sat in with Bugs Henderson at the Granada Theater in Dallas a few months back. Andy also played that show. Backstage, he was all interested in my Luke. He saw that Luke had signed the headstock. He said, "Wow, that's a great looking guitar! It's even signed by the man himself. Luke is one of my heroes." I thought that was cool. It would be cool if Andy moved to MM!

Why don't you call him and put the bug in his ear?

I love Timmons. He'd got great tone and phrasing. I also love Bugs Henderson. I've seen him play a couple of years ago when he came out Portland way. He is killer live. His version of "Outside Woman Blues" killed me. It would be awesome to have both of them on board with EBMM!

I know I would really like see what EBMM and Andy would come up with for a signature model... It may never happen.. BUT.... I just know I'd love it.... he loves 22 fret guitars.... he loves traditional type trems... he uses passive pickups.. he uses big frets... heres what I think....:D
1.. a Luke type body...(ie.. no pickguard)
2.. passive pickups
3.. a SS size neck with big frets
4.. EBMM vintage trem
5.. his own AT paint job..
I know this is a little silly but I just think Andy and EBMM would be a perfect match and if I had any influence with the people who make decisions I'd push for something to happen...:)

Everybody is awesome with Musicman in their hand!!

Ahh... regrettably not.
Even when playing with either of my wonderful pair of Balls (titter) I am still at absolute 'In the zone' best only a woefully average guitarist.:(

However I do get slightly more photogenic when I'm playing either the Axis or the AL, I rather suspect that might be due to the reflected halo of the guitars.:D

As for Andy Timmons, he's amazing and it would be equally amazing to have him play EBMM..

Andy is an amazing player with perfect technique. But the thing that stands out most for me is his tone. Sublime. I'd love to see him playing EBMM.

Here's Robelinda being psychoanalyzed:

Doc: When I say a word, tell me the first thing that pops into your head...green.
Rob: AL!
Doc: mother
Rob: AL!
Doc: hot
Rob: AL!
Doc: cold
Rob: AL!
Doc: zebra
Rob: AL!
Doc: This is very unusual...
Rob: AL with rosewood board!
Doc: Unbelieveable!
Rob: AL with humbuckers!

I'm totally kidding you, mate ;)...passion is never a part time thing.
