5 guitars in 3.5 years? I'd be chaining them to my wrist by now and rethinking my gig loading strategy!

Sorry for your loss...

The others were stolen when my house was broken into... two different houses in fact. There is a huge burglary rash here over the last few years.

mate -I am truly gutted for you. I use both my MMan guitars at every venue regardless how rough....I keep saying I'm going to get a couple of cheapies - but I just can't .......I love my guitars and (you guys prob understand) that if you have a great guitar - it's to play, not to leave at home!

hey guys - how about we set up a fund....if we all go £1 / $1 each via paypal...we'll get him enough to put to a new one!!!!!

Hang on....erm....then we can do the same for me!!!!

Serously though - I'm there if we can do it!!!

May have located the Ibanez and the police department there has even called me just to follow up and he thinks that the odd nature of both colors will make them easy to find if people do what they usually do with things like that. The rest is just watching Ebay and whatnot.

I'm actually hopeful for the first time of this ordeal. I had written them off completely.

Yeah, but the people I've known here, and some other music forums I frequent, tend to not suck with as much regularity. :)

Thanks for listening and putting up with my whining...

I've been thinking about what it would take to start a sort of musician's network that is organized, and based on dealing with various state's laws and whatnot. I'm always looking at used instruments to see if they have any signs of being stolen, but I'm just not very savvy about crime and whatnot. But, there are several of us, even in this small town, that are always paying attention and if there was a network that was famous enough that musicians everywhere would report their stolen instruments on... and was organized well enough that it would be easy to brows stolen instruments in an area....

I don't know. It would take people smarter than I am, but if everyone did something... it seems possible.

Man, Again that just sucks so bad, I agree so many people nowdays suck and have no respect for others, and i agree this forum is different, with great people who care, i so hope whoever is stealing these gets caught, most likely whoever is doing it is trading them for drugs, then the drug dealer is selling far away from your town or the thief is going into Kansas and Missouri where trust me the pawn shops dont care.

I think the GPS chip idea is a good one, hope it works out for you.

Read about that on the Petrucci forum.
Thats terrible.
There should be a donation for those whose get their gear stolen.
Like you prove that it was stolen and those that are that sympathetic can donate like five bucks to them.
Its a nice idea, but unfortunately there are plenty of people who are saving up for their own gear.
Anyhow, back on subject, hope you get your stuff back, its like losing an arm or a leg.
Best of luck to you.

Sorry to hear... this is one of my biggest fears. And it certainly isn't the monetary loss that bothers me, I would much rather have the instrument than the money it took to buy it (them). Good luck recovering.

I would too, but thats one of the ideal choices, right up there with not having it stolen in the first place. Just thought it would be nice.

I cringe whenever I see or hear the word "stolen". Sorry to hear about your loss, and I'm with you hoping for the best outcome. Hope you get them back and the thieves get what's coming to them.

Saw this on the JP board. Thieves are the scum of the earth. I hate them and can't imagine how ballistic I'd go if someone stole my guitars/amp!
