I really doubt they are making new tributes, they might be doing a pink GC deal but I doubt they are doing all the colors. It still doesnt explain that mystery purple one I played that was brand new, and labeled as a tribute. I just wish someone would put an end to this, i feel for all the guys who have bought the original tributes if they are just going to make more, Im sure there is a logical explanation for all this, and thats my last post on this thread. Hopefully. Lol

Hmmm, just looked up the GC platinum room in Boston and searched for Axis. Indeed, it pulls up a bunch of "tribute"'s in pink and purple, with the purple models marked as "just arrived". Very interesting.

GC must have wanted an exclusive round of pink and purple tributes to celebrate their 49th.

When I called Spokane when I first seen the tributes were coming out, I was told by Guitar Center that I had the last Pink one if I wanted it, I thought I had something real special, so I ordered a Black one too as well as the Pink one, even through I live in Calgary and I had to drive 18 hour there and back plus paying Duty on the guitars to get them because they wouldnt ship them to Canada. After the first round the second one came out and I thought hey this must be a big success for them to do another round. I tried to get Musicman to build me a Pink Axis Super Sport in 2003 with a Premium top, I was told that was a discontinued colour, so I had to pay $3200 for a Blue one with a piezo, I still play that guitar lots today. Well anyways a few months ago I was just cruizing the internet and I found these tributes released to Japan: Rakuten: [Rakuten International Shipping Services]- Shopping Japanese products from Japan

I was a little taken back from it as Japan had a special run of Pink Axis's the year before, and now tributes are there when we thought it was exclusive to the U.S. Guitar Centers, It's still all good though, I am bummed out a bit with these ones, I still love these guitars no matter what color they are, At least I feel lucky that I have a Green and a Pink Evh, and I know that's it for them.

Who cares if they build 10000 Pink, Purple or Green Axis tributes? Were they not meant to be played not collected anyways? If there is a demand for something that BP and Co can accommodate then by all means do what keeps the business in the black! Personally, I wish they would do all Axis guitars that way (hand stained) again and bring back all the original colors... But it is what it is and if you were lucky enough to be in a position to buy one then please play the crap out of it and don't worry about resale.

I like your enthusiasm, but your theory contradicts the term "limited edition".

I hear what you're saying but it's still a special run, and the supply is limited.

I'm with Stratty ... the more the merrier. Good for EB that they're selling so well.

So I think the people want to know, are you making new tributes? Also just a suggestion, why dont you put the toggle switch back where it was on the evh, for a special run, I like it better that way.

Put an all rosewood neck on that and I'm in! As for "limited" how many Pink Axis guitars are really out there? It's not like EBMM dumped a few thousand into the market like some other companies do. Don't get caught up in the term "limited" in terms of numbers... Other than these special runs for GC or PDN can you call your dealer and order a "tribute" at any time?

Ps. Not trying to sound like a jerk or pick a fight. Just offering a different perspective on the special run "tributes".

Just solved the mystery! Yes they are producing new tributes, I checked the D.O.B thread and there is a pink axis tribute with a dob of 6/13. Problem solved.

So,
I submitted the serial # to the "Serial number: what's the production date"....

Here's the reply:

This serial # is from a Pink "Tribute" advertised on the GC Platinum page.

Make your own assessment......

Beej,

What do you men by "special run"? If it becomes so commonplace, there's nothing "special" about it, right? Sorry, I can't agree with the constant contradiction in terms.

To me a special run means they do it the request of a vendor (GC) or something time-limited, etc. It's limited in that it's produced for a short period of time, and you can't order it as a regular production item.
