Im almost positive there are no new tributes, the one I played at GC was labeled as one, yet the back was black not brown, therefore making it just a regular purple quilt axis with matching headstock. Even though I thought ebmm was not doing quilted or painted headstock axi outside of the bfr, thats where the mystery lyes, maybe AJ can clear this up, that would be great, thanks.

Yeah, you're probably right. I think we would have heard something "official" prior to this; perhaps a GC advertisement or something. Probably was an NOS.

I think gc labeled them wrong. Go to gc's platinum site and they do in fact have them labeled as tributes. they're not nos as they are just hitting the stores. The Pinks are dropping like flies

Not sure to be honest, but, if certain colors are selling I say continue to make them. "Limited Runs" are just that. Limited. Doesn't mean to limit the color. Everytime a color gets discontinued the forum melts down. I recall the "sparkles" being discontinued and it was like the world was flipped over.

Hopefully someone official will come on here and settle this for you guys.

I agree Ozzy. Kind of bums me that I'm called "silly" for buying all eleven colors in a limited run because they were limited and having a full set is a special thing?

With all due respect, Jeff, how many people can afford a full set? You're in a unique position no matter what.

The tributes are limited runs. You can't just order one up from us.

With that said, we still do the normal Axis with a matching headstock if you would like. Some of those are quilt, some are flame. That's still the same as its always been.

We had a price increase on Axis (and a handful of other models) in June. That's why you are noticing the price of these being higher than last time.

The GC's near me have the purple listed as a tribute model on thier platinum site. Not just the model in ATL but also the other 15 they have listed as current on the platinum site....Not sure if these are NOS but they are tributes....dont know if that clarifies any of this......

The purple one I played in Boston was $2150 and was labled as a tribute, even though the back looked black to me, not brown like other tributes, its funny the ad above says nothing about tributes, yet I thought pink was a tribute only color. Correct me if wrong.

Eric, I'm not 100% certain but when GC runs an exclusive, they have pretty decent chance of getting custom colors, in this case pink.

I understand ,the pinks are an exclusive, but that does not explain the purple one I played in GC Boston that said on the tag( axis tribute, purple quilt) and was brand new, yet strangely had a black back, I believe this is a labeling mistake. It cant be a tribute, right?

Maybe new old stock? Just been in a warehouse for 2 years? Regardless a beautiful guitar! Does not explain the black back though, unless I was mistaken, It looked black to me.
