Hi everyone !

It's been a year or two since we haven't heard anything on a JP/Majesty 8 strings. In an interview JP said he wanted to have one and bring it in the studio for the new DT album. They are doing the guitar tracking at the moment but still no words on it. Did anybody here heard something about it recently ?

I was wondring if BP can give us a quick inside. Is it still in development at least ?

I'm pretty sure there was some mention in one of the videos from NAMM, and it's being worked on.

As with most things, it'll be ready when it's ready. You can't rush perfection.

Hopefully soon and that's why my Artisan 7 order from GC keeps getting pushed back :(

I interviewed him when DT was in Australia last September and asked him about it.
At that point he said that all there was were some concept images on a page, and that there was a lot of work and development ahead before there was going to be any sign of even a prototype.

I'm surprised ! JP has talked about it since 2014 2015 or so and it would only be on paper as of 2017. I'd have expected something coming a bit quicker. I remember someone, may be on this forum, who has been to a JP's clinic and wrote about BP saying something like ''You're gonna be a FAN of it'' and the emphasis on the FAN. So the guit who reported it thought it was a hint that may be the JP8 would be multiscales. What ever it is I can't wait to see the next shape/development MM and JP will come up with.

Lots of alternate tuning though. And the baritone BFR was used. :)

He didn't discuss new gear too much. He did play the steakhouse majesty in 6 and 7 configurations

We got to hear a 20 second clip from the new album. It was a very heavy sounding track..

But how are the drums? Are they back to a more organic sound a la ADTOE? Or is it continuing on the uber compressed, lifeless sounding production we've heard since?

I’m trying to recall clip that we heard. I don’t remember drums, but just a rythm guitar track. It was quite heavy for sure.
