Just curious if any of you have refretted your EBMM Luke or Albert Lee with jumbo or med-jumbo frets? I'm seriously thinking about redoing a rosewood Albert Lee neck with either 6105 or something closer to my AllParts SMO-22 neck which has frets that are approx .118" x .055".

If you got a refret, was there any adjustment needed at the nut?

I haven't done it but to answer your second question - most likely yes taller frets would require the nut to be shimmed or a new nut. But cost wise that would be a drop in the bucket compared to a refret.

Had bigger frets put on my Luke 1. Not sure what size they are, probably the next size up from the original wire. Had the nut shimmed a bit and raised the Floyd up a hair. Plays better than ever, a nice mod to do. That said, I also like the small wire on the L3.

I sent my Luke 3 to a refretting with ss and jumbo frets. Is there really a need of nut adjustment ? I will get the guitar back in 2 days, allowing God.

I posted some photos of the guitar with new frets. Check my posting if you are interested to see it.

My Axis hardtail Rosewood is refretted with much larger frets. It plays and sounds killer, but I think I prefer the stock frets of my Axis Super Sport!
