My band plays a lot of Motown/Stax, and I find that the Stage II flats on my Ray work fine. They are surprisingly bright, but moe lively in the upper ranges (think "Knock On Wood"). By comparison, the ***der sounds muddy.
i love the group ii's. They are surprisingly strident in the upper mids, but that .105 thumps. I agree, great for (the) soul.
I just put EB flats group 3 back on the 30th SR. Wow. Great for church, by the way. Smooooth.
