On one hand I was impressed with the fact that he's at least making the buyer aware of everything "non-stock" (I'm being kind) about the guitar. Many folks don't do this - even pretending at times that a guitar like this is "near mint" or "9 out of 10".

But I crack up at all the same stuff you guys are talking about. My thought was to wonder why this top quality guitar is more worthy of an ugly sanded down spot in the middle of the headstock than it is having the original OLP logo???

This is probably a 17 year old kid who did a lot of learning while making mistakes working on this guitar. He is naive enough to think that he can spin anything to be what he wants it to be.

If that were the way things work, I'd be a billionaire by now...

I do have to give the seller some credit as stated for trying to be as clear about the mods as possible... reasoning is a bit off the wall but at least he's not trying to hide anything that we can tell at the moment... sure he sanded the logo off and his reasoning is laughable at best... but at least he's honest.

I was actually considering bidding on it this afternoon, I've been pondering buying something as a project guitar. It would be a nice guitar to sand down and respray, basically show it "A MUCH RESPECT AS ANY TOP END GUITAR" :D. Most of the money could be regained from selling on the EMGs, somehow it still seems pricey for what it is though.

Anywho, i'm already waiting on one Petrucci turning up on my doorstep, I reckon that will take up enough of my time when it finally decides to show up ;)

I don't understand the headstock... wouldn't a can of black spray paint work better?

Are you kidding... who would spray paint a high end instrument? it only adds to the value if you sand off the headstock logo... and after all this instrument needs to be right up there with the cream of the crop... LOL!!!
