For those of us know know Tommy and have had him work on our guitars, he's the man.

If you're on the East coast ... send it to Tommy :)

Looks like you may be needing a new ballroom/hut too someday if you keep adding to your collection and your following!

Ok, just to bring you up to speed with my Axis. I ended up sending it to tommyindelaware and I just got it back on 5/14. All I can say is awesome! Tommy did an incredible job. The neck was shimmed with tinfoil both at the nut and the neck pocket. He got rid of the tinfoil and used some aluminum shims. He got the action super low and it plays like a dream. He cleaned up the frets and the back of the neck...silky smooth now. Tommy is the man...I have at least one other guitar for you to work on :)

Special thanks to the formites helping out a newbie. This is the best forum by far.

Judging from the picture it looks like someone has put a full size shim which takes up almost the entire neck pocket. This is way too much. EBMM only uses small plastic shims that sit up by the front 2 screws of the neck pocket. Theyre also very thin because only a little change is need to affect a large change on the action. I have reshimed the neck on couple of my Axis guitars with plastic shims of a different thickness that EBMM sent me. You need to replace this shim with one of the factory ones from EBMM and readjsut the bridge height. If your not comfortable or experienced with taking the guitar apart and the neck off the guitar bring it to an experienced person.

tommy (or whomever), what's your opinion on hanging guitars by the headstock on the wall with a String Swing or equivalent? Just wondered if it puts any strain on the guitar.

Oh, so that's where those hooks come from - I'll be needing a few of those as soon as we're ready in the music room downsatairs here.

As far as your guitar/bass work - Both my Bongos are heavenly after your work - Like Clem said last night - super low action, no buzz - they play like a dream!

Fellow forumites- if you are within easy reach of Philly - He da' man!
