Hi all-

Considering replacements for the hardtail bridge on the Axis Super Sport. This is theoretical at best, no complaints with the function of the bridge - just curious as to my options.

I can't find much information about the "Music Man® strings-thru-the-body bridge". Is this a rebranded OEM bridge? Does it match a standard drilling pattern (e.g. vintage Strat hardtail, American Strat, Schaller 475, etc..) Any experience finding an aftermarket replacement, or a guess at what would fit?

Thanks!

The only times I've seen a hardtail bridge replaced was for something different- routed for a trem, using a tele bridge assembly, B-bender, etc.

I suppose you could find a comparable hardtail, but what would be the advantage over the stock bridge?

Well, cosmetic mostly. I saw a Wolfgang with aged copper hardware that was the hottest guitar I'd ever seen. Just wondering what my options are.

Ah, gotcha. Well no idea really- you could take some measurements then talk to the usual sources and see what they offer.

Schaller makes a vintage copper hard tail bridge. It looks really sweet. It would need some retro fitting, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I am also looking for a Music man hardtail bridge or something similar that will drop in. I'm also having a hard time finding something that will drop right in.

These aren't my pictures. I just found them in a quick google search. The picture of the stripped body shows the pattern of the holes. The routed slot is not supposed to be there, but you can get a good idea of the hole pattern anyway.
