I'm late to the party, but I have to give +1 to the Roland Micro Cube.

I received one as a Christmas gift from my kids (2 and 4) after I heard the great sounds coming from that little bugger at the EB Open House last Sept.

Amazing little amp, can run on "AA" batteries, has headphone output plus amp modeling, and some basic effects (delay/reverb/chorus/phaser).

Everyone who's heard me play through it has been amazed at how good the sound is... especially when they consider the originator of said sound.. ;)

i did see a demo of the micro cube at GC...pretty cool little amp.

i decided to try a smokey, heck for $30, how could i go wrong? If it isnt everything i thought it would be, i'll go for a micro cube. (probably score one on ebay for around $90 + shipping)

GC sells them for $125 + tax + gas to drive there and back!!! :D

Time difference so I am late too!

CONGRATS MATE!!!!!! I have 1 son called Toby. He is almost 3 now. Let me tell ya, they are great, but get some sleep in early!!!!!

Small combos..... the vox is cool too. Just seen an Ashdown mini stack and if you can stretch to it the Cornford 6w is a real beauty.

Mate, enjoy and all the best to your family.

Jonny.

I'm late to the party, but I'd recommend the Roland MicroCube as well. I bought one after coming back from the Open House and hearing Keith's. Great little amp, I take mine camping with me all the time. The battery option is killer.

You can get some great tone at less than bedroom level. I can play with my wife and kids watching TV in the room next to me and it doesn't bother them at all.

Another vote for the Roland Microcube...amazing what they pack into such a small & cheap unit. I got mine for about $65 off ebay and keep it in the inlaws basement for when we visit and I need some time out!!! :D :D

+1! Plus they have a nice speaker compensated headphone socket.

Hey Brent,
Nice pic. Thanks for sharing and I forgot to add in my last post, congratulations. Kids are great. My wife and I have 5 between us, the oldest being 18 and the youngest is 11. I have a stepson who plays guitar and is very good. It's a great thing watching them grow up, if you have girls your hair will eventually look like mine though, sparse and grey... ;)

Oh yeah, Go Blue!!
