Just make sure you add in a 4ohm cab. The 4 Pro will run 600 watts through each cab. If you go Ampeg Try the 18". It's a 4ohm cab and the audience should feel that thump. Your 410hlf is 4ohm so you don't want to add a 8ohm cab. Although you could add 2 15"8ohm daisy chained with the 4hlf. Man that would be a bone crusher. You want to run 8ohm, 4ohm or 2ohm. The specs look best at 2ohm.

The specs on that power house look fine. You can run with your 410hlf or on its own. For that price I don't see were you could go wrong. Should give you plenty of options.

when i was amp shopping a few months back the bass guy at my local shop was telling me that his opinion is that the svt 4's wattage is overstated. his experience is that it doesnt put out what ampeg says it does

I've used it for several years, and IMO it sounds better with a Musicman bass than any other amp out there.

I know. I was just ribbing you a little since I know you have that endorsement deal with GK. I had a GK RB400 for several years and I did like it a lot. At one point I didn't think I would need anything other that a small amp and I sold it and my cabs. I had always liked my Hartke 410 with the GK 115 combination but I thought it created more highs than I wanted, so I ended up with a Hartke 115 and a 210. I decided to go with the Hartke 3500 and keep everything in the same brand. It's worked pretty good for me so far.

(I am gassing for some Schroeder cabs right now though.)

Right now ( ;) ) I'm playing through two custom constructed cabs. One is a 4x10 and the other a 15. Each are rated about 1200 watts each - 16 ply birch - loaded with Eminence Kappa Pro's. I'm using a Sansamp RBI as a preamp (which is really great!!) - and I'm kind of in between on what amp I'm going to stick with. Probably a QSC RMX or a Crown something.

I run a Demeter VTBP-201S preamp into a Yamaha P4500 power amp (720w per side @ 4 ohms), with either an SWR Henry The 8x8 (480w RMS) or an SWR Goliath Jnr 2x10 (350w RMS). I run the power amp in stereo and only use one side, which is a good match for either cabinet.

Im using a SWR SM-900 and a SWR 12-stack cab that im totally in love with. I also have Goliath III (4 Ohm) lying around that I don't currently use because I need a power amp to run both at the same time. Both are equally good cabinets, I wish however that I could convert the Goliath to an 8 ohm cab to solve the impedence problem I have that requires me to get a power amp and run stereo. oh well..... its always something.

i think the reason that you have to turn up the 4 pro so much is because its in stereo mode. the swtich on the back to switch modes is a bit decpetive. origianlly it looks likes its pressed in(which would put it in mono/bridged mode), but its not. its actually in the out setting(stereo). try taking a pen or a tooth pick or something of the like and push the switch in. it should go in even farther then it looks like it should. then youll be pushing all 1200 or 1600 or whatever amount of whats it can put out. you shouldnt have to turn up to much then:D.
