i would say i know them fairly well. i can actually almost completely name and give specifications for the entire ampeg product line. i spent close to a year avidly visiting the ampeg forum. i learned a whole about ampegs and amplifiers in general.

Hi I'm a bit late to this thread.

Some weeks ago I picked up an SWR Goliath Senior - n n nice. I power from a Crown MT601 that I already had.

I bought a BBE BMAX-T pre-amp and it took a long time to sort out a decent tone,

then by chance I found a Swedish EBS 1 Classic pre-amp on Ebay. I've just been testing it out with my stock SR5 and it sounds excellent. Tomorrow I'll try the Bongo and see how that sounds. Looks like the BBE will become redundant.

Hey Dave -

I meant to tell you that in reference to our conversation a few weeks ago, I've been using the Sansamp RBI for a week or two and I love it!! It's a lot more versatile than I would have thought.

FWIW!

Good luck with that EBS.

It looks to be a rental agency.

I don't normally fall for solid colours but that is nice. I don't think I've seen that one before.....maybe a refin?

Chris, do you know something I don't? ;)

No. I didn't mean to say anything other than good luck in the sense that I hope you like it. I, like you, am searching for the Holy Grail Preamp.

Chris,

Brand new it's a seriously expensive bit of kit, like about $1800. The guy I bought it from was only selling in order to buy a new Ashdown Labs Mark King pre with the 12-band graphic. He said it was excellent. As I said first impressions are really good. Now I need an opportunity to gig it.
