I have some upcoming gigs that will be played in places requiring me to take full advantage of my SVT-4Pro's 1600 watts. That said, I have 2 4X10 cabs that run different impedence (one is 4 ohm, the other is 8ohm.) I am thinking of selling them and some other gear and buying a big 8X10 rig with the pop to handle a big head like the 4Pro. I have seen a lot of good press about the new 8X10 Basson rig and am impressed by it's capability to supposedly handle a low B with authority.
Does anyone have any experience with this rig?
I also saw an article in Bass Player mag recently about the new Mark Bass 8X10. It looks interesting as well. I thought about going with the Ampeg 8X10 Classic, but have heard that it gets a little muddy.
Any suggestions? Need great sound and the ability to handle the SVT-4Pro monster.
I know the best thing to do is play before you buy, but I am going to have to trust folks as I do not live close to any major music stores.
The style of music will be rock to full-out metal.
