It's funny how some people change their tune about "coffee table" basses under certain circumstances.

Uh huh, but LOOK at that thing. Plus, let's face it - it's a Musicman.

Jeez, Scott, the 2nd one made my teeth hurt.

They are both drop dead gorgeous. I have to agree with Dargin I like the Hs best, there is something about that burst finish. This is the ONLY burst finish I have ever seen on Koa that looked like it belongs. 10++

The back of that neck has gotten my attention.

Waiting on the BFR Bongo. That might make me lose it altogether.

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered, but....how do we order a BFR? Via a dealer?

The sales for each BFR depend on if&how EB wants to sell it

I know that you can't specify, say, flame vs. quilt, but what about really basic stuff like wood or color? If one orders a BFR is it a total crap shoot?

BFRs will be offered however EB wants - Don't worry, you will have your choice of buying it or not buying it

That would be a serious disincentive.

Maybe they will offer a color choice, or maybe they will say "The body wood is koa, but it will be finished in opaque black" :D

The Tobacco is unreal!! I love the neck....ebony....the finish on the back ....wow! Nicely done! It appears that the product line is heading in an (even more)interesting direction! Keep it up!

As mentined many times. The BFR is an opportunity to offer instruments that normally would be made for artists or family and friends due to the limited nature of the woods/parts. It is not something you can preorder(with the exception of the JP F-1) In the future there may be more standard BFR's but really they are a very limited creations from our team

As they are made available the dealer will present it either in his or her store or on their webpage and you can inspect the exact instrument and make a decision if that is for you.

All of our other instruments are made to order. We dont cut a piece of wood unless theire is an order, but the BFR are really truly special pieces.

THe BFR's are more expensive. They arent for everyone. For example the 10 piece run of the BFR SR5 30th Bahama Blueburst with the eboony and the 20 year old first ten digit serial numbers retail for $7,500. 2 were saved internally (#1 for Dargie and #10 for the vault, me) Four were allocated domestically (Pete Du Baldo, Bass Central Guitar Center and Musicians Friend) Four international...( waiting for Beth to announce)THe tobacco burst is signifigantly chaper that the blue ones.
