It is not something you can preorder(with the exception of the JP F-1)

Ah, okay, now I realize where my confusion comes from. I recall skimming some threads about preordering the JP F-1 and wondering how it would work...given previous statements that BFRs are what the Ball family decides they are, no choices available, luck of the draw.

No preorders makes much more sense to me. To be able to see the exact instrument is perfect.

It's very different with regular stock. There are so many options that it's entirely possible a real live example of an instrument you're interested in may not actually exist in the wild, so you have to order "blind."

Holy freakin' God!!! Those are sooo pretty. The tobaccoburst is my favorite of the two, but they are both absolutely stunning.:)

They are both beautiful.

The tobacco burst might just be the prettiest bass I've ever seen.

And as a HS SR5, its probably the best sounding bass I haven't heard yet.

Congratulations to the EBMM builders, and to whoever is lucky enough to get one.
(won't be me, but shed no tears, I've got a killer Sr5!!)

THe BFR's are more expensive. They arent for everyone. For example the 10 piece run of the BFR SR5 30th Bahama Blueburst with the eboony and the 20 year old first ten digit serial numbers retail for $7,500. Four international...( waiting for Beth to announce)

And the winners of the drawing were...

.....drum roll....

Kanda Shokai - Japan
Strings and Things - UK
Musik Meyer GmbH - Germany/Austria
Mogar Music - Italy

But don't you people think you're going to be able to pry any of these 4 out of their cold dead hands.. I know one of them is destined for a museum.

We brought this piece up to our friends in Oregon to show them some of the cool stuff the team has been working on. It's an ash body, mahog block, koa body and neck, ebony board, pearl dots, and natural finish. I have another one I'll be posting later today that is my favorite.
