What's the process of "roasting" the neck involve? Is it actually a heat treatment? Does it give any benefits other than amazing visuals?

I had to come back and look at this again. That neck is just absolutely beautiful. I think it blends perfectly with the Caramel Apple Delight finish and the gold hardware.

Done correctly, roasting brings out the full flavour of the wood... Much warmer tone. Haha so maybe i made that up

Absolutely love the roasted maple.

The neck of my Petrucci looks similar now from age, use, and occasional re-application of oil & wax. I smile every time I look at it.

Gotta start putting more mileage on my Y2D to get it to a similar state of break-in!
