BP took several paragraphs to explain what could be stated in one sentence - Sparkle finishes are no longer available because most people think they suck ass.

Well, I'll just go on record to say that the Ball boys make just about the highest quality finishes you can get. They're beautiful, smoother than glass, and very durable. I was playing my Lava Pearl Stingray tonight, and I just had to stop for a minute and admire how nice the finish is.

Oh yeah, and my DG "Big Poppa" rules the freaking earth with a hammer.

Maybe it could. I think the dark green (mystic or envy) looks to classical and sad (but that only my taste), but I think the martini olive or lime green Bong' or the lime green down SR 4 are really great. I would have bought one rather than carbon blue if those colors have been avaiable when I got the Bong'.

Try one !

I believe that when Big Poppa stated that "green guitars don't sell', he was stating a fact, not just an opinion. Sure there are people that will buy them, just not enough to make it worthwhile to manufacture them in quantity, which is the way EBMM makes their guitars and basses.

You're right Mobay, but I think that the fact green guitars don't sell is because of the kind of green offered. Many of my friends were not even considering about green instrument, saying "it's to close to black" or to sad. They would have considered and (maybe bought) something "greener". So maybe a "greener" green could sell better than a darker one. That's an opinion, not a fact. To make it a fact, it would be interesting to try one.

Green cars don't sell well either. Just look around sometimes and compare the percentage of green cars to other colors such as black, gray, silver and white. I think you will see a trend.

The only green cars around here are min-vans, and there is a redicculous amount of them. All of theml (and I mean all of them) are driven like there is a soccermom behind the wheel who is late for their boss' dinner party - cutting me off or pulling in front of me and then gabbing on their cell phones while trying to bottle-feed the baby in the far back seat

Wanna ask me how I really feel? :D

Aha...that's because there are no green basses or guitars : you can't find any soccermom trying to play bass as she's feeding her kid and chating on the cell while hurrying to its boss dinner party ! :D

hahaha

Pete,

I actually own a green minivan! And a white one, too! (They're both oldsmobile silhouettes.)

But mine haven't left the Pittsburgh area for several months, so it wasn't me running you off the road! ;)

One of the nice things about them is that you can fit your amps, cabs, and all those goodies in the back. Mine both have the extended wheel base with seating for 7 inside.. leather interiors, VCR with little LCD tv for the kids.. heated seats.. on board air compressor with auto-levelling air shocks.

Yeah, it happens once you start procreating.. let that be a lesson to you all! :D
