Brand X,

The U.S. didn't ruin your day, Robert Green ruined your day. Heart sank when he made that mistake. I'm sure that result shook them up a bit. Hopefully, this will get their butts in gear. Capelli seems to have a tight rein on the players. Wonder if Green will start next game? GO ENGLAND!!!

Each to their own... you are correct. I’m not dissing the sport, its just not for me.

I know soccer is the biggest game on earth but to me its dull IMHO.

You have to remember that I just finished watching 2 gruelling months of NHL playoffs... the fastest game on earth.

The playoffs were great. It's the regular season that's boring. And you're a Leafs fan. You're used to seeing boring play.;)

Just learned that if England come 2nd in the group and Germany win theirs, they will meet in the next round (ie Knockout - no draws....just extra time with penalties if no winner).

Great.

As usual, Germany are completely unfancied, but like a Mercedes or BMW, they do the basics incredibly well - and if you do that, you win.

Go Norway! Oh, wait... :p

I was rooting for the US yesterday, because England always think they're gonna win the World Cup.

Today, I was rooting for the Aussies because, let's face it, who doesn't like Australia...

Fun fact: Norway is the only team ever to play Brazil, and never lose. So there. :D

Doesn't matter if we haven't qualified for a tournament since Euro 2000, we're great at living on past glory...

Cappello will have to sort out his team selection and formation as they were all over the place last night.
All the hype of England being one of the favourites to win it,they didnt look like world champion contenders last night.

It's the media more than the fans.......same old English press - build 'em up to knock them down.....England fans generally know that we're not as great as the press would have us believe.

We are a good team, but not great. It has the potential - but nothing more just yet.

Football? Were the Patriots playing? Who knew they started the season so early?

On a more serious side....I raced bicycles back in the 70's and 80's and back then, it was accepted that the US would never have any seriously competitive cyclists. Our kids are now doing year round soccer camps and I would not count us out in the years coming........

are you REALLY sure? :)

Not sure how bad a colonoscopy is but those horns are boarderline unbearable. If the US fielded an underwater basket weaving team I'd probably watch and cheer for them. That said, not counting the US/Eng. game, I haven't been able to watch for longer than 5 or 6 minutes. I loved playing little league but just can't get into watching it. Good luck to everyones team though.

First step from the dutch towards the next round. Not a brilliant match by any means, but the signs toward some great soccer in the next matches were there. Japan-Cameroon was even worse to watch then Algeria-Slovenia. Where can I get 90 minutes of my life back :).
