You're not man enough for a 5. :D

dammit stank!

I agree Phatty..I dont play a five but I want to piss off Luke and play 6 string bass

i guess since i also play guitar its tricking me into thinking that its familiar terriory - but its not at all. i do a lot of finger playing stuff on guitar so it seems like that would be really fun on a bass.

ya - sign me up pops.

Thanks BP and Jon and all at EBMM - this has become a very interesting ride. Fascinating to see how a new instrument develops through the design process.
Lookinf forward to seeing the playable prototype - how about a scale shot next to a 4 string Bongo?

I normally don't venture into these parts, being one of the skinny-string players, but I gotta say..... Whoa! (in appropo Keanu accent) I'm already convinced I need one of these Bongos. Thanks for letting us witness its development. :)

No...you are not the only one....

However, I have only tried out one 5-string (unfortunately, not EB at the time) and just felt like I kissed my ex mother in law. My bongos actually put me in the dog house for even picking up "Brand X" bass.....;)

So, I am looking for a 5-string bongo just to see how it is.....but, that 6'er is really getting my interest piqued. I would love to get my hands on one for a try out....;)

Considering the fact that a 6 string bass is half my weigh (ok, somewhat exagerated but at 120 lbs, i am really not fat), I can't imagine to get a 6, even a Bongo.

Moving to a 5 (if that ever happens) is probably the deadline for my back.

But it looks like they're gonna be the sexiest 6 strings basses ever produced !

Thanks to EBMM for letting us be some "insiders".

Easily solved. You just need one of these:

(If you don't mind me calling you) Sterling, some people mention the weight of the Bongo 6 as one of the reasons they won't get one. Having never played a Bongo, I was under the assumption that the basswood body would offset the weight a bit?

I gig regularly and don't have the best back in the world. My SR5 doesn't hurt my back at all, but that's not to say the bass is light - Ultimately, it won't matter to me how heavy it is, I'll sit down to play the thing if I have to :D

Like Mynan just posted,

My HH Bongo5 is lighter than my HH SR5 so the Bonginator should be ok, it won't be a "De La Hoya" model but then again I'd rather get in the ring packin' an "Ali" or "Foreman" model :p
