Well then,if this the case it really wouldn't matter if you decided on either the Bongo or Stingray you'll proably still sound the same.
 
i think i could make 100 different sounds with my two hands. alot of my tonal variation has to do with that. i think i could do it. or at least get very very close.

Jubjub was confusing at first, when he first said the 2 hand-100 tone thing, but he cleared it up with the quote above. Hahaha... We really are helpless goobers, here.

They're just saying that with your two hands (count them. if you've got one, sorry to offend. if you've got more than two, check the growth with a doctor or something) you can create a vast array of different sounds from your bass. That's it. Very simple idea, folks!

I think you should get the one you think is the coolest. The fact that they are both EB's you will be hard pressed playing up the capabilities of the equipment. My thoughts are you will be able to get the sound you like out of either one. Remember that the amp and outher equipment can have as much to do with sound as the bass. Personaly I wouldnt show up to a Texas swing band with a bongo, but I wouldnt have a problem rocken one out.
 
I have played blues gigs and even an oldies gig with an orange Bongo.

I played CHRISTMAS gigs with my fiver Bongo.

And all of this was in Texas!

Hah!
 
It can be done! It did raise a few eyebrows....all these SRV wannabees asking, "What exactly IS that?" But you can't argue with the tone.

Beautiful downtown San Antonio. Got a right lively jam up here on Fridays and Sundays, if you ever make it up this way.
 
I was just up there this weekend. Took the boy's to see the Spurs beat the Mavs. Then Saterday my wife and I sliped over to Gruenne Hall to catch Reckless Kelly live. I like thier groove. Nice and tight and rough all around the edge.

Oh wow. That's a wonderful color. Of course you must have a pearloid pickguard on it. ;) Anyone have a Desert Gold SR? I'd love to see it.
