Question Bongo with new lightweight tuners?

I recently purchased a Bongo 5. I could feel the extra weight at the headstock right away but I use a wide strap and don't experience any neck dive at all. At first, I could feel the extra weight on my shoulder but as the days pass, I'm getting more used to it. It's really not a big deal.

My bongo is the lightest of all MM's I have owned and I like using ernie ball straps. Maybe I should use lighter strings.

Before anyone goes moving strap locks, I recommend simply trying a wider strap with a suede back. I use a 4" wide Moody's and a Comfortstrap. Never had a pronlem with weight or neck heaviness.

I hate wide suede straps especially when they get sweaty. Plus my bongo is light, just don't like the balance.

As an author of this Thread I think discussion is going in a wrong way, ...I was focused to new design of light weight tuners, ...don't bother with this neck diving and "wrong" balance stuff, ...please guys!

Yeah, they are definitely a cool design, for sure. I'm all for a lighter headstock, and the older I get, the more I'll probably want it, regardless of strap.

I just called cs and was told in the "very near future". I was also told I was the first one to call, so I hope I am first on the list.

Folks, we've previously been told that the new tuners will not be available as an aftermarket accessory. Last I heard it was only on new basses, and of those only the instruments that the factory chooses to put them on.

Of course, this may have changed... but those of you who have been around awhile should be well aware that EBMM doesn't do the "one from column A, two from column B" thing with its instruments.

You can't get alternate bits on your new bass, any more than you'd be able to get Chevrolet to build you pickup truck with a Corvette steering wheel just because you think it'd be cool.

If you absolutely must have different tuners on your existing instrument, there are smaller/lighter ones already on the market from other companies. This is not a big deal mod.

That's the point, ...'cause I'm about to order a brand new Bongo, so...

I'm really GASing for a Bongo 5 Hp, ...only waiting for those new designed LW tuners and maybe some new sparkle/metallic crazy colors on the chart!
Also I would be very happy if we could have a more choice for a fret board wood, ...'cause only RW on serial production models is not enough from my point of view. Yes I'm focused on ebony, ...so far reserved only for LTD series, ...but why not in serial offer, ...did I ask about the prices? No, ...so?
