Bootsy Collins Musicman?

i was talking to a friend of mine (who ive bought my peavey tx410 off) and he said that many a year ago he saw a Bootsy Collins musicman sig, i cant remember if it was a stingray or not but he said that it was purple?....any info on this?..or is he pulling my leg

To the best of my knowledge, there has never been a Musicman Signature bass for any artist.

Now, that doesn't mean that Bootsy wasn't playing a custom purple sparkle Musicman (paint is cheap when you are famous), but it wasn't a signature bass.

Or, if your friend just saw a purple bass in a store, then he's just wrong. Yes, there have been purple Stingrays. No, it wasn't a Bootsy signature bass, and your friend is mistaken.

Of course, rumor has it that I've been wrong on one occasion, so there is a chance for a repeat offense.

thats probably it...he used to live in sydney and well, all he knew is that it was purple and said bootsy on it..
