I'm also digging the round pickguard on the StingRay 5 Classic. My only complaint with the new Classic Series is the input jack being on the top of the bass; I prefer a side-mount input jack. I realize that the way it's being offered is a return to the original design. I noticed that the Sterling in the Classic Series has a side-mount input jack.

Not really. 2 band preamp on the StingRay always have the input jack on top.
