rosewood necked bongo will have its natural headstock so it might just be the most perfect bass to do this to.. no headstock that needs repainting and new logos..
I'd get a banana yellow Stingray 5 HH with a maple board and vintage pearloid pick guard.
...with Margarita inlays. Definitely hot.
Yesterday I was cleaning up, restringing, and taking apart a 1979 Oly White or creme Stingray (for photographs) that I acquired a while ago. The bass has yellowed a lot. Not really sure that I like the colour (spelled correctly) that much, but to each their own. But I really came to like the Dargie Delight I colour a lot over time, so maybe I would learn to like a yellow bass too.
